Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
