The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Most Merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
