The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day resplendent 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the finest, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
