The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
