The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
