Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 (It will be said): 'Indeed, cast into Gehenna (Hell) every deviating unbeliever, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 and an idol worshipper. Throw him into severe torment". 26 ۞ And his comrade shall say, 'Our Lord, I made him not insolent, but he was in far error.' 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 The Word is not changed with Me; I wrong not My servants.' 29
