Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
