The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
