The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
