And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 Seven gates it has, and unto each gate a set portion of them belongs.' 44
