This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
