The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
