Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and believes in the truth of what is right, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 They do not expect any reward 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
