The great ones among Pharaoh's people said: "Verily, this is indeed a sorcerer of great knowledge, 109 "He wishes to drive you away from the land. So what do you advise?" 110 Others said: 'Put them off a while, he and his brother, and send forth to your cities gatherers 111 "To bring all the wise magicians to you." 112 And the magicians came to Firaun, and said, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 113 He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]." 114 They said: O Musa! either thou cast down, or we shall be the ones to cast down. 115 He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. 116 And We inspired Moosa that, “Put forth your staff”; it immediately began swallowing up their fabrications. 117 ۞ Thus the truth was upheld, and the falsehood that they practised was exposed. 118 they were defeated and turned belittled, 119 And the magicians were obliged to fall prostrate. 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Fir'awn said: believed ye in him ere I have given you leave? Verily this is a plot ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive forth the people thereof. So presently ye shall know. 123 "Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on apposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross." 124 They said: Surely to our Lord shall we go back: 125 And what is it for which thou takest vengeance on us save that we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came unto us? Our Lord! pour out upon us perseverance and cause us to die as Muslims. 126
