Say: 'Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised, 93 do not, O my Sustainer, let me be one of those evildoing folk!" 94 And verily to shew them that wherewith We threaten them We are surely Able. 95 Respond to the injustice (done to you) with the better deed. We know best what they attribute to God. 96 And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 that I should do righteousness in that I forsook' No! It is only a word which he will speak. Behind them there shall stand a barrier till the Day that they shall be resurrected. 100 When the trumpet blast is sounded no ties of lineage will hold among them, nor will they ask after one another. 101 It will be an Hour when those whose scales are heavy, they alone will attain success; 102 And as for him whose good deeds are light, these are they who shall have lost their souls, abiding in hell 103 The Fire will burn their faces, and therein they will grin, with displaced lips (disfigured). 104 "Were not My messages read out to you? But you denied them." 105 They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray. 106 Our Lord! Take us out of this. Then if we revert (to evil-doing) we shall indeed be wrongdoers." 107 'Slink you into it,' He shall say, 'and do not speak to Me. 108 Surely there was a party of My servants who said: O our Lord! we believe, so do Thou forgive us and have mercy on us, and Thou art the best of the Merciful ones. 109 you made a laughingstock of them and your hostility to them caused you to forget Me, and you simply kept laughing. 110 I have rewarded them this day for they were constant, and they have come to attainment." 111 He (Allah) will say: "What number of years did you stay on earth?" 112 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account." 113 He will say: "You stayed there only a moment, if you knew. 114 "Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?" 115 Then, exalted be God, the true King, there is no deity except Him, the Lord of the Glorious Throne. 116 And the one who worships any other God along with Allah – of which he does not have any proof – his account is with his Lord; indeed there is no salvation for the disbelievers. 117 And, [O Muhammad], say, "My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful." 118
