NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
