To whosoever blinds himself from the Remembrance of the Merciful, We shall assign him a satan so he is his companion, 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 When such a person comes to Us, he will say [to his comrade], "If only you had been as far away from me as east is from west. What an evil comrade!" 38 And it will profit you not today, because ye have done wrong, that ye are in the torment sharers. 39 Can you, (O Prophet), then make the deaf hear, or direct to the Right Way the blind or one lost in manifest error? 40 Even if We take thee away, We shall be sure to exact retribution from them, 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 Hold thou fast wherefore to that which is revealed unto thee: verily thou art on the straight path. 43 It is a (source) of greatness for you and your people. You will surely be questioned about it. 44 And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? 45
