The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
