The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of a clear Book, the Quran. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know! 3 Not one habitation have We destroyed but at the time determined for it. 4 No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind. 5 And yet, they [who deny the truth] say: "O thou unto whom this reminder has [allegedly] been bestowed from on high: verily, thou art mad! 6 "Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?" 7 We send not down the angels, save with truth; 8 then they would not be respited. It is We who have sent down the Remembrance, and We watch over it. 9 We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old: 10 and never yet came an apostle to them without their deriding him. 11 We place in the hearts of sinners (disbelief). 12 they believe not in it, though the wont of the ancients is already gone. 13 And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend, 14 They would surely say: intoxicated have been our sights; aye! we are a people enchanted. 15
