Al-Najm 3 of 3
Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 Thamud, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. (Command of Prostration # 12) ۩ 62

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
