Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
