Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 He bethinketh that his wealth shall abide for him. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 (And) vaults them over 8 In outstretched columns. 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
