And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
