The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
