Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha, Meem. 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 The verses of this Book have been fully expounded. It is a reading in the Arabic language for the people of knowledge. 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting. 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
