The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
