The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 Nay! most surely the record of the wicked is in the Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 a written record, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting, 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 upon couches gazing. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
