But none believed in Moses except some children of his people, because of the fear of Pharaoh and his chiefs, lest they should persecute them; and certainly Pharaoh was mighty on the earth and one who transgressed all bounds. 83 And Moosa said, “O my people! If you have accepted faith in Allah, then you should rely only upon Him, if you are Muslims.” 84 They said, 'In God we have put our trust. Our Lord, make us not a temptation to the people of the evildoers, 85 Save us, through Your Mercy, from the unbelieving nation' 86 And We revealed to Musa and his brother, saying: Take for your people houses to abide in Egypt and make your houses places of worship and keep up prayer and give good news to the believers. 87 And Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment." 88 He said: Your prayer is heard. Do ye twain keep to the straight path, and follow not the road of those who have no knowledge. 89 ۞ And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims." 90 'Now? And before thou didst rebel, being of those that did corruption. 91 So today We shall deliver thee with thy body, that thou mayest be a sign to those after thee. Surely many men are heedless of Our signs.' 92
