And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: have ye observed that which ye worship 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
