1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then, are we not to die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
