Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
