Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
