The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 you pay attention 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
