The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
