The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who hath taught mankind by the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) seen him (i.e. Abu Jahl) who prevents, 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
