O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 Leave them in their perplexity for a time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 those, hasten in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And assuredly We took hold of them with the torment, yet they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they entreat. 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
