And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
