▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
