A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 If you obey a mortal like yourselves, then you will be losers. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 There is no other life than the life of the world. We shall live here and here shall we die; and we are not going to be raised again. 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. 39 God said, "Before long they will be filled with regret." 40 And then the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them, justly and unavoidably, and We caused them to become as the flotsam of dead leaves and the scum borne on the surface of a torrent: and so - away with those evildoing folk! 41 Then We produced after them other generations. 42 [for,] no community can ever forestall [the end of] its term - and neither can they delay [its coming]. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
