The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 and make for yourselves mighty castles, [hoping] that you might become immortal? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 This is naught but a custom of the ancients; 137 We will not be subjected to any chastisement." 138 So they belied him, so We destroyed them. Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
