And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected. 37 He is only a man who hath invented a lie about Allah. We are not going to put faith in him. 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 So the punishment overtook them in justice, and We made them as rubbish; so away with the unjust people. 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor yet postpone it. 43 And We sent forth Our apostles, one after another: [and] every time their apostle came to a community, they gave him the lie: and so We caused them to follow one another [into the grave,] and let them become [mere] tales: and so - away with the folk who would not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were arrogant and were a haughty people. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they belied them, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
