۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 What, do we then not die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
