The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 Recompense fitted! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
