The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No indeed; but that they were earning has rusted upon their hearts. 14 No indeed, on that Day they shall be veiled from their Lord. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 And what will make you know what 'Illiyyun is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which do drink those brought nigh. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost." 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
