We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 and for all such, behold, hell is the promised goal. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
