The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 While eyes are downcast 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
