The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
