The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
