Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
