The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
